About First Choice Vasectomy

First Choice Vasectomy began in 2014 to offer as many people as possible the choice of reliable family planning. First Choice has worked to increase awareness and broaden access to vasectomy as an option for families. By bringing Vasectomy to more people, First Choice has helped many hundreds of families around Ireland.

A couple or an individual may desire a permanent solution to family planning at a particular time in their lives. Vasectomy can be a great option for many people, providing peace of mind and freedom at the next stage.

Vasectomy closes the tube (Vas Deferens)  which delivers sperm into the ejaculate. Post-vasectomy, the tube that delivers sperm into the ejaculate will be closed. However, men will still experience erections and ejaculate. But the semen will not contain any sperm. Instead, the body will harmlessly absorb the sperm produced.

Our team uses a keyhole, no scalpel procedure. This minimally invasive procedure, while it is a little uncomfortable, produces virtually no bleeding and is almost painless. This technique reduces the risk of infection and bruises, making recovery smoother.
